Overview

Our MSc in Management is an intensive, one-year, full-time programme that prepares recent graduates for a wide range of careers in management, such as consultancy and financial services.

The programme content allows you to find solutions to real-world business challenges and covers the skills required for managing in turbulent environments.

The programme combines academic rigour and practical relevance. There is a careful balance of teaching and learning, individual and group work. Case study methodology and class-based discussions are used to strengthen the conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills of the participants in real situations. In addition, there are regular seminars by external expert speakers.

Study programme

Before the programme begins you are expected to complete a number of online pre-study modules. These are designed to give you a basic knowledge of areas which will be covered by the programme throughout the academic year.

You choose to study one of four specialist pathways and complete a total of nine core modules over the autumn, spring and summer terms. The pathways include:

  • the Digital Business pathway provides both the economic foundations for analysing competition in digital markets and the strategic insights necessary to succeed in digital business
  • the Financial Services pathway introduces the foundations of risk management and mergers and acquisitions
  • the Strategy and Leadership pathway is designed to introduce students to advanced concepts in strategic management, highlight the importance of leaders in developing and implementing strategy, and to develop their personal leadership capabilities in order to ensure they are effective strategic managers

You also choose a number of elective modules to study, including an international study tour, allowing you to tailor your learning to match your career aspirations. All students complete the programme by completing the Management Capstone module in the summer term.
