What we do
The Institute for Molecular Science and Engineering (IMSE) was founded in 2015 as one of Imperial College London's six Global Challenge Institutes.
The Institute transcends disciplinary boundaries and brings together Imperial's world class engineers, scientists, clinicians and business researchers to find innovative molecular-based science and engineering solutions to grand challenges facing our world. Such pressing challenges include the race to realise a viable 'green' energy supply and to tackle the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance.
As part of the gowing worldwide molecular science and engineering community, IMSE has a perfect home at Imperial. The College's existing culture of collaboration and research translation means ground-breaking transdisciplinary research can be conducted in conjunction with external partneres, for maximum societal benefits.
