Y12 Engineering Summer School

This residential summer school aims to broaden students' interest in and experience of a variety of engineering disciplines with a view to assisting them in making an informed course choice.
Students will be placed within a subject stream based on their current A-level subjects. Supported by undergraduate mentors, students will tackle challenges within the applicable engineering disciplines.
Depending on the stream you will get a selection of workshops from the various engineering disciplines which are offered in the Faculty. This will include some of the following:
- Aeronautical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Design Engineering
- Earth Sciences Engineering
- Electrical and Electronic Engineering
- Materials Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
The course is residential and students will experience broader university life through a series of social activities as well as time to share experiences with other participants and undergraduate mentors.
At the end of the week there will be an academic-style conference where groups will present a poster explaining an engineering concept they learned during the week to their peers, leaders and invited guests.
Will this course suit me?
Yes, if you have a strong interest in studying engineering at University and are currently studying Maths and Physics at A-level.
