This graph shows staff numbers (full-time equivalent) between 2013-14 and 2017-18. Total staff numbers have increased by 8.8% between 2013-14 and 2017-18, with academic staff numbers increasing by 5.8%, research staff numbers by 2.6%, and support staff numbers by 14.1%.

Data is sourced from Imperial College Statistics Cards between 2013-14 and 2017-18. Staff numbers are based on snapshots taken at 31 December of each year.

This graph shows the student : staff ratio each year between 2013-14 and 2017-18. The student : staff ratio has increased from 13.3:1 in 2016-17 to 13.5 in 2017-18.

Data is sourced from Imperial College Statistics Cards between 2013-14 and 2017-18. Academic staff numbers (full-time equivalent) are based on snapshots taken at 31 December of each year. Student load is based on student numbers (full-time equivalent) from snapshots taken at 31 December of each year. Student load is the full-time equivalent teaching load undertaken by a department, taking account of service teaching supplied to and received from other departments. It includes research postgraduate supervision load. Note that from 2016-17, the methodology for calculation of student : staff ratio was modified to be in line with the method employed by HESA.
